In general, you should plan to change your vehicle’s oil and oil filter regularly and check tire pressure, fluid levels, filters, belts, wiper blades and brakes and replace worn items as needed. At Xpress Lube, we are your partners when it comes to responsible auto service. When you bring your vehicle to Xpress Lube for auto service, we will check the following components of your car:
Transmission fluid. We will check the fluid level and add some if needed, changing it completely every two or three years or as outlined in the owner’s manual auto service recommendation.
Battery and cables. We will make sure the battery is mounted tightly and the connections are clean and not corroded.
Belts. Tensioners and pulleys will be checked for wear and all belts will be reviewed to see if they are loose or frayed and need to be replaced.
Brakes. Your auto service will include inspection of the entire brake system, including pads, shoes, rotors, drums, calipers and fluid.
Cabin air filter. This should be replaced at least every year, more often if you drive in heavily contaminated air or if your HVAC system isn’t working well.
Chassis lubrication. Older vehicles will need this auto service, but newer cars are designed not to require lubrication.
Coolant (antifreeze). We will check your fluid level and inspect for leaks.
Dashboard lights. Many sensors in your vehicle communicate problems with warning lights. If you have an indicator light on, we will fix the problem and reset the dashboard lights for you.
Engine air filter. We will look at your air filter with every oil change and replace it annually or when it’s dirty or torn.
Engine oil and oil filter. Some older vehicles need this auto service every 3,000 miles, but newer ones can go 5,000 miles between changes, depending on your driving habits and external conditions.
Exhaust. Exhaust leaks can be very dangerous, so we always check for leaks or other damage and make repairs immediately.
Hoses. We always inspect hoses and replace them if they are dried out, cracked or clogged.
Lights. Bulbs and fuses should be inspected at every auto service opportunity and replaced.
Power steering fluid. We will check the fluid level, top it off if needed and check for leaks.
Steering. Every annual auto service visit should include inspection of wheel alignment, shock absorbers, struts and chassis parts looking for wear and tear, leaks, and loose hardware.
Tire inflation and condition. We advise checking the pressure in all tires, including the spare, every month or so and inspecting them for uneven wear or cuts on the sides; we will always advise you about rotating or replacing tires.
Windshield washer fluid and wiper blades. Your auto service will include a check of washer fluid levels and inspection of the condition of wiper blades.
At Xpress Lube, we are a full-service maintenance and repair center. We are trained and experienced at performing whatever services your vehicle needs to function well and last for years.
